Today, the Indian and Nepalese communities in Canada and around the world mark the arrival of Spring by celebrating Holi. Known also as the Festival of Colours, Holi celebrates the end of winter, friendship, the triumph of good over evil, and, traditionally, a good harvest. This joyous occasion includes Rangwali Holi, a street party during which families, friends, and neighbours will eat, sing, dance, and paint each other in vibrant powders and dyes.
To all those celebrating today, I’m wishing you a fun, happy, and colourful Holi. May the season be filled with happiness and prosperity. Holi Hai!
