In April, we come together to celebrate Vaisakhi, the holiest day of the Sikh faith. Vaisakhi celebrates the founding of the Khalsa in 1699. This is a special year for Sikhs, as it marks the 550th anniversary of the birth of the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev Ji. During Vaisakhi, Sikhs will gather in prayer and song, take part in religious processions, and share meals with one another and the community.
It was a pleasure to be joined by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Vancouver South during this year’s celebrations.
From my family to yours, I extend our best wishes for happiness, good health, and prosperity.
